Fabulous Julian Chatt 42' & Russell Newbery Engine - London Berth
Description Highlights
I K Brunel has a wonderful provenance and has been fastidiously maintained by her current marine engineer owner.

One for the connoisseur, built by Julian Chatt in 1997 on an original c.1905 Bantock Butty and powered by a glorious Russell Newbery DM1 single cylinder, 9 HP diesel inboard (Serial No 12K1001) from c.1988, (as featured in the Russell Newbery Register Newsletter No 12 dated March 1997). She cruises happily at 4 knots and has travelled the waterways extensively.

In anticipation of placing her on sale, the owner commissioned Hugh Ellacott, (an independent Yacht & Small Craft Surveyor) to complete an Ultrasonic Thickness Measurements (UTM) Survey in August 2020 demonstrating the exceptional robustness and quality of I K Brunel's construction. A copy of this survey report will be provided to prospective purchasers upon request.

The hull was blacked with 3 coats of International ‘Intertuf 16’ whilst out of the water at South Dock Marina repair yard, Rotherhithe (just across the Thames from Limehouse Marina) immediately prior to the above mentioned survey. Her BSS

A set of four new 125ah / 1000cca (dual ‘deep cycle’ leisure & ‘high crank’ engine start) batteries have subsequently been installed (in August 2021).

With a highly sought after leisure mooring at Limehouse Marina in central London, her new owner will enjoy a spacious saloon which converts to a double bedroom and an extremely well equipped galley with four burner gas hob, washer/dryer and fridge/freezer. Separate toilet and shower rooms plus a good sized owners cabin with a double bed at the stern. Plentiful storage throughout and an unusually spacious bow deck area from which to work, entertain or simply enjoy the marina views.
